Balancing music, sobriety: How Ivan Neville, Anders Osborne got sober and now help others

Our project, Send Me A Friend gets a nice feature in The Advocate. Many thanks to SMAF co-founders Anders Osborne and Bill Taylor, Harold Owens, Ivan Neville, and Imagine Recovery for facilitating a very inspiring conversation surrounding the struggles & the joys of achieving and maintaining sobriety as a creative at our November Lifeshop. Anders Osborne's "Won't Bow Down" benefiting Send Me A Friend

On December 16th, Send Me A Friend (SMAF), a project of Positive Vibrations Foundation, will celebrate its 2-year anniversary with “Won’t Bow Down,” a benefit concert at the Maple Leaf Bar featuring SMAF co-founder Anders Osborne along with an all-star Mardi Gras Indian ensemble including Big Chiefs Monk Boudreaux and Juan Pardo. For one afternoon, the legendary Maple Leaf Bar will transform into a sanctuary of healthy living and funky, spirit-driven music. The back bar of the “Leaf” will feature all alcohol-free beverages—craft mocktails, locally-brewed kombucha by Big Easy Bucha, and coffee provided by Crescent Crown Distributing and French Truck. VIP tickets include lunch by Jaques-Imo’s.
