The Lost Set: A Bayou Boogaloo Benefit

“The Lost Set: A Bayou Boogaloo Benefit,” will take place on Saturday, June 30 at Tipitina’s Uptown to benefit the 115 food and art vendors affected by the severe weather. The concert will feature AF, The Low End Theory Players (A Tribe Called Quest tribute band), Debauche and Tony Hall's Allstars Band which includes Alvin Ford Jr, Ari Teitel, Tillis Verdin, Khris Royal, Renard Poche, Tracy Griffins, Roderick Paulin, Vitas Paukstaitis. Entertainment for the evening is sponsored by Positive Vibrations Foundation. On Friday May 18, the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo festival site along Bayou St. John sustained heavy damage and loss of opportunities for sales due to extreme winds and over 3.3 inches

Joe Gelini and Spy Boy J'Wan Boudreaux of Cha Wa Band, a Mardi Gras Indian Funk band, led a truly only in nola masters class! NOBABE at Preservation Hall Thanks to Offbeat Magazine for the beautiful coverage of our event!! This was truly a magical Sunday. The collective, founded for this year’s Bayou Boogaloo with the help of the Positive Vibrations Foundation, features 16 local female musicians. The Boogaloo performance being rained out, the group led by singer Cole Williams got a second chance to perform their all-original music at Pres Hall. Master Artists Series: Mike Doussan & Dave Jordan

We were honored to have Dave Jordan & Mike Doussan back again this year! Dave Jordan & The NIA are a home grown, Nola, Roots Rock - Jam Band Mike Doussan is Soulful Roots Rock. Together they make for excellent Songwriting Workshop leaders. They have both played with too many bands to list and continue to create their own individual music as well. Busy, busy, bands! As a matter of fact, recently Mike introduced "Father Doussan & The Disciples" a family band featuring his sons Killian (15, guitar, bass, drums) and August (6, drums, percussion, vocals) along with his Dad, Archbishop Chip, on guitar, bass, & vocals. N.O.B.A.B.E. is a showcase of some of New Orleans finest musicians, who happen to be women. In a nod to the future of music in our city, N.O.B.A.B.E. features Arsene DeLay, Daria Dzurik, Emily Fredrickson, Hannah Kreiger-Benson, Lori LaPatka, Ainsley Matich, Alison McConnell, Margie Perez, Catie Rodgers, Ashley Shabankareh, Amy Trail, Boyanna Trayanova, Cole Williams, Kathryn Rose Wood, Jessica Wright and Jamie Lynn Vessels. N.O.B.A.B.E was first brought together during this year's Bayou Boogaloo Music Festival, but unfortunately was never presented due to the inclement weather that impacted the festival.
