Support Red Wolf Brass Band on a Cultural Exchange!

Look for Positive Vibrations Foundation Ambassadors while you're out at Jazz in the Park Thursdays October 3, 10 and 17. (They'll be wearing T-shirts with our logo.) We are selling RAFFLE TICKETS to help with some of the costs of the cultural exchange. The raffle tickets are $5 and the drawing will be at the LEAF festival on Saturday October 19th. The winner will receive a private performance featuring the Red Wolf Brass Band and Johnny Dilks and the Highway Kind on a date of their choosing that does not conflict with either band’s performance and touring schedule and it will take place in New Orleans, LA. You do not have to be present to win. http://www.pufap.org/fall-2013-dates-lineup/ Two members of Red Wolf Brass Band will be joining The Soul Rebels onstage for a jam! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Wolf-Brass-Band/115086702013593 Support the Red Wolf Brass Band as they head out on a BlueBrass cultural exchange and performance at the LEAF music festival in the mountains of North Carolina. "LEAF is an amazing experience to learn about people from different cultures all over the world. It's also a place to eat great foods, be in arts and activities. The attractions such as zip-lining, canoeing, paddle boarding, drum circles, and bonfires. I had a wonderful time at leaf and I would highly recommend going to it and even performing in this wonderful experience." -Damian, LEAF Schools & Streets There will be activities planned and more to provide the students with daytime entertainment and to further their overall cultural enrichment experience. Desmond Venable started the Red Wolf Brass Band at Riverdale Middle two years ago, but last was the first year it performed at the French Quarter Festival. The Riverdale Middle School Jazz Band has been performing for the community and other cultural events promoting New Orleans’ rich musical heritage. Under his direction the band has thrived and become one that is known for their musicality and musicianship. Positive Vibrations Foundation aims to further enrich their skills and cultural experiences with a fellowship to attend the workshops and perform at the LEAF Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina in October. The good folks over at The BlueBrass Project, led by Chris Jones (Percussion- also 101 Runners), will be in attendance along with Clarence Johnson, III (Leader and Teacher at our Summer Arts through Culture Program), Darryl "Dancing Man 504" Young and more New Orleans ambassadors TBA. https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Bluebrass-Project/109228292598599 Musicians and Speakers from past programs: http://positivevibrationsfoundation.org/musicians/ Watch videos from our Concert Series, Salons and other programs: http://positivevibrationsfoundation.org/videos/
